Default How much diff fluid for Riddlers?

I've looked around and searched but havent found an exact answer. I have a dana 44 rear and dana 30 front riddler covers that I'm going to be painting today and hopefully install within the next few days. Can someone please inform me as to what the correct ammount of fluid to put in each diff? Also i plan to use Royal Purple synthetic and was wondering what weight of oil to use.

Thanks for all the help,

Chuck

WayofLife's dif fluid change write-up

Here's a good place to start. The Riddler has higher fill hole, but that doesn't mean you need to put more oil in! People on here have said overfilling causes oil to come out the breathers and I believe them.

AMSOIL Antifreeze and Engine Coolant
Automatic Transmission, Initial Fill..........4.0 quarts[1]
Automatic Transmission, Total Fill
4 speed 42RLE..........8.8 quarts

If you have aftermarket diff covers with a higher fill hole to accommodate a rotated axle, and you fill it to the top of the hole, it will spew diff oil out the vent tube once you get it warmed up driving down the road

I have a 2008 JK Rubicon - Do I need any additive to the 75w90 synthetic gear oil?

no, the additive is for the LSD, which a rubicon does not have.

That's what I thought, but someone told me otherwise, and I wanted to reconform my understanding.

Thanks for your reply!
