Default How often do you fix your steering wheel?

After 4-wheeling, do you feel your wheel alignment is off?

I always do and find that it is off, thus having to adjust my drag link constantly in order to center my steering wheel. But even then my Jeep likes to veer slightly off to the right.

All I've done is a 2" BB and 33x12.5 tires. Plus, a year and a half ago I got in an accident that mess up my toe-in/wheel alignment, but I went to a professional for that fixture and all was good after that.

If anyone can tell me my wheel issues is normal or point out some suggestions as to what may be causing these issues would be great.

Thanks!

Sounds like you bumping your tie rod when your going off road. If you bent it your wheel will be off.

OlegFl -- I'm the same way. I like pushing my JK to see what it can really do.

whpony96 -- I'll check my tie rod when there's daylight out. It's very plausible that my tie ride could be bent; I've definitely bottomed out before and banged up the underneath my JK.

yeah, I'm looking into the heavy duty tie rod as well. Looking Rubicon Express, and Rock.... forgot the rest of the brand. But once I get the extra cash it's my next upgrade for sure.

OlegFl -- Thanks! Rock Krawler is the main one I'm looking into as well, especially after seeing it installed on Project-JK.

The weakest front end component on the JK is the tie rod. It looks huge and impossible to bend, but it's hollow inside. Depends of how far the wheel is off as to how much you bent it if you did. I've done this before too and a HD tie rod from Northridge is next for me.

What does the OEM tie rod look like fresh?

After looking at my tie rod this morning I have reason to believe it is bent a little outward (possibly from turning stress when doing obstacles) and a few minute dimples.

Thanks. Looks like HD is the way to go.
