Default Hub nut locking?

Is the hub nut on a Dana 30 locking? I replaced my stub shaft after bending an ear. Trying to hand tighten the hub nut and it only spins a few turns and stops.
The threads on the but look OK, no cross threading or real damage.

The nut is self-locking. It will turn by hand until the threads on the stub shaft reach the self locking portion of the nut.
