The biggest difference in a nitro charged shock is that it will resist shock fade. After prolonged shock cycling, the oil in the shock will begin to cavitate (froth and foam up). The effect is similar to having air in your brakes. The shock piston has less and less resistance due to the bubbles in the oil.

A nitro charged shock places the oil under pressure which will minimize cavitation.

Hope that helps!
