Default Hypertech problems with Sirius

I tried programming my Jeep with the Max Energy the other day, but it kept giving me an error code 60 ( cannot enter diagnostic mode). Hypertech told me to disconnect my Sirius and try it again. I pulled the power wire from the back of the unit, and still got the same code. A friend of mine mentioned that I may need to disconnect the power wire from its origin, nut just from the back of the unit.

Just wondering if any one else has run into this, and may have some suggestions.

Thanks

Default What is the official word on 09's & Factory Sirius?

One of the great things about having this forum is that we have Manufacture Reps; in this case we have Darnell from HyperTech, to point these questions to instead of playing around with various attempts netting random results.

Therefore, let's try for the official word on this regarding 2009's in general and factory Sirius and/or factory Nav too.

Hey Darnell, :
1. Are the 2009's now "officially" supported with the current release?
2. Is factory Sirius and/or factory Nav supported?
3. If yes, then "exactly" what steps are needed, if any, for Wranglers equipped with factory Sirius and or Nav before programming with the HyperTech?

Is your Hypertech updated?
I don't pull any fuses for the Sirius, just make sure everything is off

I have installed/removed mine prob 10 times now, I do that for the free oil changes

Yes, the tech at Hypertech checked and verified that my programmer was updated and was running on the most current program, he even ran through the steps with me on the phone. I failed to mention it earlier so I applogize, but my Sirius is a plug and play that the dealership had a local audio place install. Its not the one built into the receiver from the factory.

As to the other gentleman who suggested that I not get your feedback, but rather wait for someone at Hypertech. I have already gone that route, and I had 2 reps tell me that I was all set to use the programmer, and 2 tell me they werent ready for the 09. Even though I had received an email from the company saying it was good to go. Doesnt really leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling about their customer service.

I hope I'm not the "other gentleman" mentioned here and if so my apologies. I wasn't suggesting that other Members input wasn't useful or valid, rather I was just hoping for someone from HyperTech (Darnell) to come into this discussion and give us the "official" word on this as there seems to be different talk from HyperTech. I have an 09 and and haven't yet bought a HyperTech for this exact reason, the lack of a consistent message from them.

Yep, I was talking about you. I meant no disrespect, Im just a little frustrated with the whole process. I bought this programmer 2 months ago from Quadratech because they claimed that these worked on the 09's. When I contacted Hypertech to see why it didnt work they explained that it wasnt ready for the 09's yet. I explained to him that I wouldnt have shelled out the dough if I had known that, and he just laughed and said if I would just wait a couple months it would eventually work.

When they sent me an email saying that it could now be updated, I tried to install it immediately, and now Im getting 3 different stories from 4 different people at Hypertech.

So again I meant no disrespect, I just know that sometimes other people may know tricks to get things to work from trial and error.

Hey Kevinc.... no disrespect was taken. We are both trying to resolve the same issue, the only difference is that you already own a HyperTech unit and I've been waiting "months" to buy one. I'm just amazed (and a bit confused) that they don't have a definite answer for the 09's. You, nor I, nor most anyone else on this forum are (or should be) professional JEEP ECU programmers. So silly me thought that just maybe the real professionals could answer what (again silly me) I thought would be a fairly straight forward series of questions. No offense towards you either. Take care.
