Default Hypertech or Superchips?

Ok so who has it installed in their JK and which is the better programmer? I have read a few threads and want to know if the Superchips worked all the kinks out yet? I am very familiar with Hyperytech with my Chevy back in the day. It worked very well for me. I put on 33's and need it for the speedo correction and tire size correction. Also looking for more hp and better gas mileage.
I think a programmer will give me more bang for my dollar then a exhaust system.
What has your experience been with it and what do u like and don't like about them?

Thanks,
E

I own the Hypertech programmer. It worked fairly well on my '08 JKU. I found that the 93 Octane tune with Plus/Mid-Grade gas performed the best for me. The 87 octane tune did nothing. With that being said, I now have a '09 2-door and the Hypertech has done nothing but make my gas mileage go down. I am under the impression that Jeep may have improved a few things with the factory firmware tune since '08.

As far as the Superchips tuner goes, I do not own one. However, I may be purchasing one not only for the performance tuning but all the other advertised features it provides. There has been talk on other Superchips threads in this forum where the 87 octane Superchips tune provided significant performance improvements withour resorting to premium fuel.

I have both and can tel you the Superchips is night and day difference even comparing the hypertech 93 to the superchips 87, I never really felt a difference with the hypertech on any setting. I was blown away by the difference with the superchips.

I never had the Hypertec on the Jeep, but I am totally amazed with the SC. I can feel it and now after a couple tanks of fuel, I am seeing 1-2 mpg better. Stock Auto Jeep 3.73 gears.

I had a Hypertec on my '98 Chevy 4x4, never noticed any difference with it.

I have had both as well, and the Superchips is by far the superior programmer.

If Superchips ever get all their features activated I'll get one for sure.
TPMS, lockers, I'm in, but when will they have them?

In the meantime I'll keep running with my Hypertech Max Energy. Just did an update on it tonight with the latest program and the acid test will be the 70 mile run to a job site tomorrow. The lowest end of the power band (premium setting) seems better than ever, loping around in higher gears at 1400-1800 was smooth and strong, and actually accelerated up a certain long hill in 5th at below 2K, and it never did that before, held speed before, but not increased it.

Nothing except forced induction is going to add the 75+ ft lbs of torque to the 3.8's power band that I need, but at least with the programmers the driveability is significantly improved as is the fun.

Edwin wait till you get the superchips and you feel the real drive ability improvement I am the biggest skeptic of these things but superchips made me a believer lol
