Default I think my Hypertech overwrote my factory settings..

I have to take my JK in tomorrow morning for a new crank sensor, the dealer said they will have to flash the computer. Needing to take out the Hypertech programming I plugged in the tuner, I got to where is said to reinstall back to factory settings press N. I hit N and it starting reading and then copying files. I had the regular program in it with my tire size and such. When it got done it showed successful. I drove it and the speedo is still correct. It was off by 4 mph before I got the Hypertech. I tried once more using the stock setting, it never read, it only wrote this time. Drove it and the speedo was still correct with the GPS. I'm afraid the Hypertech read and copied when it should not have and overwrote the factory settings it had stored in the unit. Not sure what will happen tomorrow when the dealer flashes the computer. If that goes well how about when I get it home and want to upload the regular program again, will I loose what the dealer just got done flashing?

Default hypertech

do a search for hypertech in the electrical section. there is a rep for hypertech on this forum. I would pm him and see what he says. Also there are three fuses that I had to remove to get the programmer to work. I think they are m10, m12, and m13. But dont quote on that. It has been awhile since I did it. Check my post and one the members lead me in the right direction with the fuses. I would remove those fuses and try again. Good luck.

I had the same thing happen, but it didn't lose or overwrite anything. It set your engine management back to stock, but if you cycle through the Hypertech, you'll probably see that the tire size is still for your bigger tires... If you WANTED to go back to completely stock, just reset that to the original size.

Only problem there is that it's illegal because your odometer would be off and the dealer could negate ALL warranty services as far as I know... In my opinion, you can't get in trouble for having stock computer with calibrated tires.

Well things went ok at the dealer, the crank sensor was installed and the computer reprogrammed. No flags went up and all went smooth. Came back home and uploaded the regular program, it read and copied file first so the latest flash from the dealer is now saved. I was nervous but I guess is was for nothing. The Hypertech must have done its job after all.
