just finished mounting mine in the same place. Pulls forward easily with the door closed. outta sight, outta mind.

I did both....Mag Lite mounted on seat and surefire on rollbar above!

Spare batteries for both in console.

I too, mounted mine on the drivers side seat frame. Good for a weapon or as a light and it's right there.

i mounted mine on the roll bar speaker box towards the back, looks good but can do a little rattling when the stereo is cranked up. think some pics are in my gallery
