Replacement parts availability, or total lack of.

Long story short, I purchased the BBK, upon installation I damaged the master cylinder. Totally my fault, I will bite the bullet and order another. Good thing Mopar included a handy-dandy list of all of the part numbers in the kit. Found the master cylinder PN (68048757AA) and searched Google. Came up right away as Amazon having one as well as a few online Chrysler part stores. One by one, I placed orders to have them canceled, being told this is an “export only” part. I pleaded to no avail.

Next I call my local dealer. No go. Same story. I explain I purchased a MOPAR kit. Factory parts, etc. No go. Finally call a dealer an hour and a half from me, plead my story and Jenny takes it upon herself to call FCA. She gets back with me and let me know the part CAN be ordered. That was 2 weeks ago.

Jenny has been great, responds back whenever I inquire, but alas, still no part. No expected arrival date for the part. I called FCA customer service today (spoke with Susan, very nice, very thorough), she called and spoke with Jenny. I’m told this is now on its way to a special “expediting team”. Time will tell.

I have a big trip planned at the end of the month and have been excited about these brakes, I will now spend an evening this week installing my old master cylinder and booster just so I can drive my Jeep with the new brakes and hope the parts arrive soon so I can do it all again…
