Great news, TeraFlex includes larger rotors and bigger brake pads along with their dual piston calipers!

Agreed on the the larger rotors and torque.

However,

The Tereflex Kit supplies larger rotors AND dual piston calipers.

Dynatrac supplies brackets to move the stock single calipers out.

Many of the people reporting spongy brake pedal feel did not upgrade their master cylinder as recommended by Teraflex

There are differences in the way they accomplish better braking and the related costs.

I think they are both good kits but there is a lot of half truths and mis information out there.

No argument here. I just hope this kit delivers and comes in around $700-850.

Teraflex now has a big front rotor kit that reuses the existing pads and calipers for under $300.00.

The install video is impressive in that Dennis does the install on the side of the road to demonstrate the ease of install.

Seems the price is high again. But not unexpected with dynatrac.

Dynatrac has utilized the theory of pad and rotor compounds with a slightly larger diameter to reach the increased braking power. Dynatrac is all 4 corners which will give a nice balance to the vehicle under braking. This kit is good because pedal feel will remain the same with very easy install, but is bad because you will have to continue to buy the pads and rotors from dynatrac.

Teraflex is using the theory of more clamping force with larger diameter to gain the increased breaking power. This is a caliper from an older dodge RAM if I remember correctly, so there are options for replacing the brake pads. Currently this is only a front wheel upgrade which can creates more front end dive during braking, but they are releasing a rear kit in the near future from what I have seen. Changing to this caliper requires more brake fluid to operate it properly and hence why you need to change the master cylinder I baffles me why teraflex doesn't just include the MC with the kit. To keep cost down they have cut important corners, IMO.

IMO the Dynatrac is a better design and will give your jeep the best feel in braking, but for me I wouldn't buy that kit because of the whole pad/rotor propriety issue. There are other big brake kits out there that include front and rear which for me I would be most interested in, but they are expensive. I would consider teraflex's when they release the rear kit.

I stole this from another forum. It's the list of part numbers to upgrade to the larger European/Australian spec 13.25" factory brake rotors/calipers, for those looking for an OEM solution.

I did the BR6. I didn't get the booster or MC because the BR6 caliper pistons are identical to stock. And the rotors are actually 13.25". The aftermarket ones are 13". You don't really need the pin kits. The calipers come with pins. You just re-use your stock bolts. The BR6 calipers accept the stock pads but I did upgrade mine.

Thanks for posting the pics. After adding the weight to my Jeep, and now larger tires this thread got me thinking about upgrading my brakes, and what my options might be. The proprietary nature of the Dynatrac is a non-starter for me. The two Teraflex kits use Dodge 1500 bits but the OEM angle holds the most appeal to me.

Yes but the BR6 rotors are harder to get.
