Default Initial feeling/thoughts after regearing

What were ur initial feeling/thoughts after regearing your jeep.

What did it feel like on the drive home?

Could u feel a world of a difference?

Did u feel as though it is worth every penny?

And lastly how bad ass does ur jeep drive now?

I am on almost about to pull the trigger on 5.13's and I need the added push.

Gearing does NOT equal instant hemi !! And it doesn't make it a bad ass ride.

After adding larger tires, re-gearing will simply get you back to a 'stock' or slightly better than stock final drive ratio.

Can you feel the difference? Of course.
Was it worth the cost? Yes.

I am definately not expecting it to feel like a hemi cause if that was the case people wouldnt really want the hemi if they could just regear it and feel that power. I just wanted to know general thoughts on it. But thanks for yes cause that was a question I wondered if it was like stock or better cause I would not mind it being like that after how bad mine feels with everything I have put on it and no gears (yet).

I also put a superchip on after I made it home and I noticed more of a change then.

Sorry I could not be of more help.
So ur saying that 5.13 with 37's feels worse then it did when it was stock?

It depends on your tire size and whether its an auto or 6spd. Look at the gearing chart

I just re-geared last week as well. Just like Corona Doug, went from 4.10's to 5.13's. Running 35's before and after - it definitely made a difference. No question in my mind that this was worth every penny. Wouldn't say it made it bad ass, but you definitely notice the difference in shift points, rpm's at speed, etc...

When I regeared, I went from the 3.21 to 4.88's. I am running 35's and have a 6 speed. My initial thoughts on the local roads were great until I broke it in and drove at highway speeds. Then the disappointment set in...I should have gone 4.56's because I drive between 65-75 mph on the highway and the rpms are a tad too high for my liking.

The new gears definitely made it seem like it has more power which is a good thing but the thing that really amazed me is how unless I am on trails, I never use first gear to start off.

Would I do it again...Definitely but most likely would go with the 4.56's

when I regeared from 4.10s to 5.13s on 35s it was a pretty noticable differance. My JK is my daily driver, and city driving became much better. Acceleration off of stop slights was improved, and I got OD back on the HWY. No more frequent downshifting on large hills and slight inclines on the HWY. I run about 2300 rpms on the HWY @ 70 mph on 35s, with an automatic.

I would say overall the driveability improved, the Jeep has a little better acceleration than it did when it was totally stock, and I got some mgps back on the 35s.

Best mod I have ever done !!

He has a Manual. Completely different transmission gearing, so his rpm's are meaningless in a comparison to your Auto.
