I understand that 5.38's and 37's would shoot ur gas to hell but when u say that what r u averaging?

Also do u think an auto with 35's and 5.13's would be ok with gas (will that bring it to stock)

I know we don't buy our jeeps for the mpg's but "don't care" ? We just hit $4.00 bucks a gallon here and driving a jeep is starting to cost way to much. Still love my jeep (doors and top off, no other way to go).

I just re-geared to 5.13 with a 6-speed and 35s. Definitely feel a difference. Have not seen a mpg increase yet. My gauge averages 14.5 right now. Good power (better than stock) but very quick shift points and i'm running about 2600 at 60 mph. Haven't gone above that yet because I am still in the break in period. Can't wait to try my crawl speed off road. I would still recommend it if you are going with 35 inch tires or above.

What did it feel like on the drive home?

Couldn't tell to much, I was babying it through city streets. I did notice a bit quicker gains in speeding up, a little less effort now.

Could u feel a world of a difference?

A world, no a wouldn't say that.

Did u feel as though it is worth every penny?

I can't say yes or no yet. I won't know for sometime till they break in good.

And lastly how bad ass does ur jeep drive now?

Bad Ass like you say.

I am on almost about to pull the trigger on 5.13's and I need the added push.
Just get the gears, you ain't cool unless you do.

Question????? I have an 09 X model JKU I have a Teraflex 3" lift, XHD front bumper with stinger(will eventually add warn winch) and have Mickey Thompson rims and Mickey MTZ's 35" tires.
Question is..... whats better for my situation and upgrading gears to 5.13 or is 4.88 going to do the trick for me. Thanks

Well as for me, it's not that I don't care. I made a choice and I live with it, I have a couple of toys and I can tell you that the price of gas, although does bothers me does not stop me from playing.
I have thought about a prius, But who can put 5.38's and 37's on a prius? and who would?
as I stated earlier, My initial reactions to the gears was power and performance, not GAS mileage.

Just in case someone is still wondering, with my LEAD foot condition, I average about 12-13 mpg's. and yes it is a daily driver on 91 octane.
