The overhaul kit includes everything the install kit does, plus new bearings. I'm going to be changing my gears and plan to go with the install kit.

Depending on a few things.

1. how many miles you have
2. If you are changing carriers
3. If your installer will reuse bearings.

The install kit has everything the overhual kit has minus the bearings. It really is up to you.

Gear package with install kit is running 400 shipped right now with overhual kits it is running 500 shipped right now

Bearings if you buy them at your local auto parts store run around $25-$40 each and the overhual kits include 8 of them!!

that is a good deal on bearings... When I regeared I only did the pinion bearings and it cost me $30 at O'reiley auto parts. I should have just got the overhaul kits. It is the lowest mileage I have regeared at though, so I thought it was pointless to replace the all bearings. If I had to do it over, I would do it all. Then I could wait another 10k miles on the axle rebuild later!
