Default Installing 4dr fuel tank in a 2dr

As anyone ever looked at difference in design between a 4 dr gas tank vs a 2 dr?
I was wondering if someone could install one in a 2 dr or not?!?

18.6, really? When I get close to empty in my 2 door and fill up its at about 14 gallons. I have never ran it all the way to the light coming on but I can't imagine it taking over 4 more gallons from under an 1/8th of a tank. 18.6/8 = 2.3 gallons left.

I'm not calling you a liar but I am just curious as to why I only get 14 gallons, maybe 15 gallons max.

My Owners Manual says 18.5 and 22.5. The FSM says the same thing. The most I've put in is 16.7.

When I first bought mine the dealer followed me to the gas station to fill it up for me and the fuel light came on when we left the dealership. He filled it and it took 17 some gallons.

Sounds like more trouble than it is worth....I can carry an extra 10 gallons on my OR-FAB tire carrier.

If you were to fill a 4 dr tank mounted on a 2 dr it would have a nice gangster lean due to the extra weight. I've got lean with the regular 2 dr tank when full!

Please by no means take this as the truth but I'm just assuming here...longer wheel base on the 4 door = more room for larger tank. Based on that I don't think a 4 door tank is gonna fit under a 2 door.

Also I thought 2 doors had only a 16 gallon tank. Due to my slight OCD I never allow myself to go below half a tank and its usually a consistent 8 gallons to fill her up from half.

It might only be a matter of 3 inch longer tank. 4 gallons doesnt seem like much but, I currently carry two flat pack cans and like to do some longer runs. The main part is being able to travel where I'm going and basically 4 gallons for my setup would give me 48 miles more offroading and 60-70 more range on the hwy
