installing gears - pattern - need opinion

Default installing gears - pattern - need opinion

I am setting up new gears in rear axle,
I just finished 'round 1' of backlash and pattern setup,

see pictures below, my judgement is that pinion is to far and need to add shim,

what you think?

I agree...try a touch more pinion shim and adjust backlash accordingly...good job

after 9 hours of 'playing' I think I got right backlash (.006") and pattern,

let me know if you think that pattern is not OK,
I am ready for finall installation
