Default Installing lift and have a question...

I have the 2.5 teraflex coil lift and was wondering when installing, do I need to loosen the upper and lower control arms or just the lower? If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

You shouldnt have to loosen any of them. Just the trackbar, shocks and swaybar links.

Teraflex's instructions say to loosen them but not remove. Im just having a hard time with the upper control arms so thats why I was wondering if it is necessary to loosen them. From what I understand this is to prevent them from binding after the lift is installed?!?

I didn't loosen any of mine, not even the trackbar. Just shocks, swaybars and brakelines.....flexed enough to get the new springs in.....worked great ever since.

I have the same lift. It is very important that you loosen all control arms!! Do not skip this step. The rubber bushings can bind at the new angle and cause drivline issues unless allowed to rotate freely and then retourqued at the new angle (wheels on vehicle, vehicle on ground). It may seem stupid, but DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!

Jeeperson, Let me know how you made out. I'm having the "I can't make the decision on witch type of 2.5" lift I should get" arguement with myself. One minute I want the coil spacer only lift and the next minute I want the full coil and shock type kits. I afraid if I go the cheap way I'll regret it, but I'm on a budget. Advice is welcome. Thanks, Ken
