All, I am new to the forum and thought I would pose a question. I am trying to install a new Pedal Commander module but cannot get the original pedal plug off. All of the videos I've found don't match up to what I have in my 2016 JK Rubicon. I found the plug at the top of the gas pedal but due to large fingers and some other hardware in the way I don't have any leverage and cannot seem to get the dang thing unplugged. I've taken the panel off under the steering column and removed the 2 10mm bolts and the plate that they secure. There is a 5x5 inch module of some sort in the way of directly seeing the pedal plug. I don''t know what that module is for and dont know if it can be removed to get better access to the throttle plug on top of the pedal. Is there a trick to unplugging it the pedel plug like a clip of something that needs depressed or slid up or down?

I'm pretty sure, there is a red locking clip that has to be unlocked/slid back before you depress the lock on the plug to remove it from the throttle controller.
Just wondering why you want a Pedal Box. You can get the same effect by pushing the throttle to the floor quickly at the light. They do not reprogram the ECM to give more power, they just open the throttle plate quicker.

Every drive a Jeep with a Pedal Commander as to make a comparison? I have. Although there is no more power, as in horse power, the response when you hit the gas is night and day different. It feels more like driving my old truck w/ cable operated throttle body or a cable operated carb other than a computer controlled drive by wire system w/ a ton of built in lag.
My '15 JKU has one, cost me like $25 w/ a gift card someone gave me, and my wife's '16 does not have one. She hates driving hers after a trip driving mine and truthfully I hate driving hers.
Is it worth $300, not sure about that, but it does make a difference that just pushing the pedal harder or faster cannot compare with.
"Ever drive a Jeep with a Pedal Commander as to make a comparison?" Nope but I would still say it would be the standard gutless after all it is a 4500lb Jeep with a 3500lb car motor in it. Other than turboing, supercharging or repower with V8 they will always be racing in the semi truck class. Don't get me wrong though, they are undoubtedly the best mass produced out of the showroom 4x4 ever.
Having a daily driver and driving about 70 miles a day, I could see that it would probably use more gas in the long run, not that we get the best mileage to start with, but I like being able to ease into the throttle, maybe I’m just old and already gotten through my driving fast days, but the throttle response isn’t bad for what the engine is. It isn’t a high torque big cubic inch engine, so the power curve is at a lot higher rpm than probably any of us drive at, sounds like it’s just a faster signal to the computer from the tps, or shorter distance through the potentiometer, beginning and end resistance has to be the same
