Default Installing of the Springtail Solutions Tailgate Table

I wanted a table for my tailgate that looked good and also provided functionality. I searched numerous vendors and actually came across a post by a member on another forum (asteve) that posted an install of this table with an added cutting board. I really liked the look and pulled the trigger. I actually purchased my table though EBay from Springtail Solutions and arrived quickly and well packaged. I also ordered the cutting board from tap plastics online and waited until everything arrived. Again, another member provided the dimensions (thanks asteve) and they were spot on. Info below:
24 3/4" x 12 3/4" x 1/2" ...Tap Plastic online...King Starboard...

Here's the link...just type in the dimensions...

Basically install was straight forward. However, since I ordered the cutting board and did a few steps a little different. I would recommend watching the video from Springtail Solutions as an added reference, paying special attention to the plastic inserts. It will require finesse and taking your time. Torque all screws by hand. I tightened until the washers no longer moved. If you don’t order the cutting board, I would just stick to the instructions.

1. First I measured how much I needed to cut from the cutting board. It was ½ x ¼. Some have made additional cuts were the locking pins go but I decided to slide the board in under the locking pin tabs instead to prevent cutting.
2. Next I installed the backing plate and the bottom. NOTE, if you decide to get the cutting board from tap plastics, you will need to install the cutting board to the bottom plate first before you attach the two pieces. If you already ordered molle pouches/bags or other attachment items, it would also be a good time to install all of this first, then the cutting board and then attaching to the back plate.
3. Place the plastic inserts into the vent holes in the jeep
4. The rest in straight forward per the instructional video and paper instructions.
5. I did notice the locking pins were not going in all the way and realized the cutting board was in the way just slightly. Turned out to be an easy fix, just drill and hollow out the hole just enough for the pins to fully engage.

6. Also notice were I placed the rubber anti-rattle inserts. They seem to work well at that location. No rattles what so ever from the table. I do hear the parcord attachment on the locking pins every once in a while over bumps. Not a big deal. My only complaint are the plastic securing tabs, may decide to find a permanent fix to give me piece of mind. Will see. Otherwise completely happy with this product and would highly recommend.
7. Also from asteve from another forum gave me the fit and finish ideal of cutting the plate on the left side from the plate cover. Just measure and cut.
8. I later added some molle bags and had to take the two hinge pins out and table but very easy to re-install, paying special attention to hand tighten to prevent stripping the hinge pins.
A++ for this table
