Interior Panel Cost -- AARRGGH
HAHA. I actually took the dremel with the router attachement. As you can tell the router attachement "slipped"... Yeah,, i thought i was being smart and careful!
I think he said it was a 99 dodge 3/4 ton. They went thru every part they could think of to order for it and all totalled up not including the frame and some other stuff, the parts total was almsot a million bucks or something stupid.
Makes 35k for a new rubi seem not too bad.
It would be real easy to repair that trim panel. Sand the back down with some 80 grit and kind of bevel the holes on the front with 80 grit as well. cut out a piece of fiberglass cloth and apply it to the back with resin. Sand the front as needed and use a little polyester glazing putty. Get creative with some type of sharp tool to mactch the curly cue pattern texture. Then paint to match with rattle can SEM interior gray sourced from Auto Body supply store. The whole thing probably cost less than $20.
Ok, so i was fooling around with the interior panel below the steering column. Attempting to put in a Home Link remote so i could access both my and my parents garage doors. Well Turns out the panel was a little too thick for the homelink. Long story short i ruined the panel. Called the dealer to order a new one. THey told me this thing costs $182.00. HOLY S$HITTZ!!! For a $0.30 plastic panel! I told them i would wait and find one in a dump somewhere down the road. I just could not believe what DC is trying do with this... ANyway moral of the story is not to be stupid like me.
If your going to try and mod something in your jeep get the replacement cost FIRST! Then justify if its worth modding. At least you can't really see this panel.

I seem to think It's #9. Which would be the lowest one. #8 looks to be the panel directly below the steering column.
