Default iON STYLE 171

Anyone running with the iON 171 or any wheel with 5" backspacing?

I am looking at a 17x9 with a 5" backspacing with 315/70R17 BFG AT TA/KO. I will be using the AEV 2.5" Dualsport kit so there are no rubbing issues with the end links.

I'm curious of the fit with this backspacing. I know the AEV Pintlers use about 5.2" backspacing with this tire size and I assume there is no issue. Any input would help. Pics with this backspacing showing the tire profile and fender would be really nice, but that may be wishful thinking.

Thanks all!!!

I've got that wheel with ProComp XtremeAT. I don't recall exact tire size but 315/70R17 sounds about right. No rubbing with 2.5 inch lift. Tires stand out from fender a bit but not much. I occasionally rub curbs on the left side when visiting ATM, drive-thru window, etc. I don't have pics at the moment (driving wife's JK today) but can get some if it would help.

If you get them be sure to also get a thin-walled lug socket. You don't want to find out the hard way that the OEM lug wrench will not work.

Curious, are you looking at the polished or black wheel?

I am running 15x8 Ion alloys - the backspacing is 3.5" on the 15" diameter.

I am running Ion Alloy 171's but the 15" size. I think the backspacing is 3.5"

Thanks - I wasn't sure that the tire would stuff into the stock fenders with that much backspacing, but it works fine. 2.5" Teraflex coil lift.

I could swear pintlers ran 4.5 BS on their 17s...? I had around 5 with the stock wheels and spacers, and they rubbed on my LCAs when wheel was cranked every day while parking. Super annoying. My spyderlocks now have 3.5" BS, so no more issues!

It seems weird how everyone goes with the 4.5" backspacing, but the AEV Pintler in a 17" for a JK is 5.2"
per AEV Site

Size: 17" x 8.5"

Bolt Pattern: 5x5

Offset: +10mm

Approximate Backspacing: 5.2"
