Jack on the hood
Hey guys just gotta ask for a couple opinions and questions. What are your thoughts for a jack on the hood of my 2013 wrangler. And what jacks are good and what's bad? Also do u have to drill holes on the hood? What other parts do u need to buy to mount? So basically I need to know everything about jacks. Thanks guys
Mine is a Tough Stuff mount that bolts to the hood hinges. The good, its sturdy, supports the weight well and looks good. The bad you are putting a lot of weight on a hood, just be carefull when you check your oil don't slam your hood. Its harder to remove from the hood then it would be from a rear bumper mount when you need to use it. If you had a MAJOR frontend wreck it might mess up any dential work you have had. All in all I like mine I did it because I wanted extra lights on the front but did nit want a light bar.

I personally would get tired of looking at the jack all the time, especially if it's a daily driver. Additionally, those heavy jacks are a hood dent waiting to happen for the careless user, taking it off, or putting it back on. It's a difficult location to remove the jack when needed, which happens almost never.
If your Jeep is a daily driver, I'd at least consider mounting inside the body to the factory sport bar where you could easily remove when not needed. Why carry all the extra weight if you don't need it on your trips to the mall?
My hi-lift, like my Rotopax cans, ride on my ORFAB swing out tire carrier only when I'm heading for the trails, otherwise I pull 'em.
