Default JBA or Gibson headers??

I Know there are a bunch of threads in this but I have decided that I'm going the shorty header route. I don't have the $ for RIPP, if I had 1500 believe me I would do it.

I have done a lot of research I'd like to think and have come down to 2 options.
JBA or Gibson

My right side manifold has a leak (probably a crack) and was considering doing headers ASAP anyways i would like to hear from individuals that have either the JBAs or gibsons. Good, bad or anything in between would be awesome to hear from y'all! Pictures would be cool to! Thanks

That's a bummer, dude. I can't recommend the RIPP Headers enough. I understand they're well above your price range at almost 2.5 times the Gibson's, but they really are worth it.

At any rate, whichever shorties you do stuff in there keep us all posted - interested to hear what the other camps can offer for some bolt on performance. Best of luck!

I can't offer much insight on either brand, although I would get them coated by a third party before you install them. Without the coating they'll increase under hood temperatures and potentially fry plug wires.

Definitely don't buy them coated from the manufacturer as I have yet to see any of them do a decent job as compared to what the local powder coaters or Jet Hot can do. Black Satin or Cermakrome inside and out and your ride will be a lot happier.

I ran a set of JBA's on a Mustang years ago and they held up great. They were ceramic coated

Yea I know. Was just speaking of their quality. I would definitely go with long tube headers, and get them coated like Jpop said as they will retain more heat and could melt the plug wires

I have Gibson Ceramic coated headers on mine and they have heat shields that protect the wires. I'm satisfied with the fit and the throaty sound. Not too sure about the power increase due to the fact the headers were already installed when I purchased the JK. Good luck with your decision.
