Default JK 4" lift improvements/shocks

I purchased my first jeep about a year ago, 2007 JK 2-door Rubicon with a Rough Country 4" lift N3 shocks already installed. I installed Hankook Dynapro XT 295/70R18 tires a few months after I purchased the jeep. With that current set up, I seem to get body roll. I would expect some and maybe what I'm experiencing is normal. When I break hard, the nose will dive down and if I'm driving aggressively around corners getting that body roll, the ABS system will come on like the computer is sensing that the jeep is sliding or something. My driving is probably 60% pavement, 40% off road. The off road consists of 10-40 mph gravel roads or trails in the backwood of the upper peninsula of Michigan. The pavement driving is mostly 25-50 mph around town with the occasional 30 mile trip to work on a 2 lane highway. Would just upgrading the shocks help? Do I need to spend the extra money and replace the entire lift kit? Thanks for any help in advance.

Checking your tire size they are in the 34" range.. Any idea on the age of the lift? Check the shocks for being Worn Out first, and then consider the next step.

I was told by the previous owner that he had just installed it and I purchased the jeep August of 2021. I tend to believe him that the lift was pretty new as there was no surface rust at all on any of the components. I've put less about 2,000 miles on it since I bought it.

Pictures of all steering and suspension components would help. RC is a notoriously poor brand for these jeeps. They are a big brand in lifted trucks, but a lot of the small things they do, do not translate well to the wrangler platform. Specifically they tend to drop frame side mounts rather than raising axle side instead. On their taller lifts with "high-steer" kits they will use a drop pitman arm. Also, in the rear, they tend to lower the frame side trackbar mount. At times I've seen their lifts lower the front frame-side TB mount. These small details have big effects, one of which is lowering the roll center. I suspect you might be experiencing a bit of this. I wouldn't be shocked if there was no caster correction up front and if any of the above is true, your shorter wheelbase is likely accentuating things.

So many threads drop by the wayside with no follow-up. I never think much about it till the thread gets revived. I try to feel like it's not all wasted efforts.....

Rough county is a pretty crappy lift company. People buy their kits because they are cheap. They use cam bolts for caster correction up front and a drop pitman arm for high steer. I see you have a raised bolt on rear track bar bracket. It is common for these brackets to tear the factory bracket off the axle. Some are better then others but the one you have is not a good one. The shocks and coils are soft and tend to degrade pretty fast. Your best bet would be to remove all the rought county components and throw them in the trash and replace it with a quality 2.5-3.5" lift. You will need a new factory pitman arm. I would recommend one of the Metal Cloak kits, they have several to choose from and are one of the top lift companies out there today. This would be a good kit to start with. https://metalcloak.com/jk-wrangler-2...lift-kits.html With your tire size all you really need is 2.5" of lift and lowering the jeep will improve the steering and body roll as well as protecting your drivelines from premature wear if they are not already ruined. Lots of rust on that thing, I would plan on some good cleaning and fresh marine paint to keep that thing in good shape. Good luck.

I appreciate the feedback. If you think that's lots of rust, you should see something that gets driven all winter long in this area, lol!
