JK axle bent at 21K miles - anyone else have this problem?
24000 miles, 37's and I don't wheel too hard. This was also the passenger side rear which from what I've read in an open diff most of your power tends to be on the right rear. I think because of this and 37's= twisted shaft. Oh and it was a non rubicon 30 spline shaft, and I have a spare complete 44 in the garage so just swapped them out and was good to go!!
OK had the new chrome-molly axles installed yesterday and the vibration thru the trans went away, just to confirm I will put the Jeep up on rear jack stands and run the wheels so I can see for myself that the wooble has gone - will post on that soon!
I must admit this Forum had me thinking that my problem was not in fact the rear axle - but after putting the Jeep up on rear stands and running it, the wobble has gone - so the new axles have fixed the problem.

it happend to me 2 only iwas hearing squecking noise from rear wheel...took the car to the dealer 6 times and those idiots didn't know what was it from first they said brakes then they said its from the suspenssion...but after the warranty was gone the told me its a bent axle
i don't know if they really didn't know or if they knew and didn't want to change it on the warranty

My understanding was that if the Jeep has mods (lifted, bigger tires, etc.) they will not cover a bent axle - so I bit the bullet and paid out of pocket for the new shafts.
,but in your case if you reported and they have it documented during warranty, is it not still covered??
