Default 4" skyjacker lift

we installed the 4" skyjacker a couple of weeks ago the jeep drives fine it has been aligned and we were told we did not need the drop pitman arm the steering link is at the same angle as the track bar so it was not needed

Default 4wd.com has the pitman arm back ordered unitl sometime in January. Does anyone else h

plus when we ordered the lift they said the shocks for the lift were on back order we called skyjacker direct they had them and drop shipped them to us the next dayso if you really think you need the drop pitman arm you could try calling skyjacker direct and see if they will drop ship it

Rancho was one of the only production pitman arms I saw at SEMA. Might check with them. They were also the only kit that included the pitman arm for lower budget kits. Most of the others had welded or TJ pitman arms which will hit the frame.
I hope that not the actual picture for the skyjacker pitman arm. That will not work.

Is there enough play in the setup that you don't need one for 3" lift but 4" is beyond the limit of the play? Would a 3" feel more stable with a drop pitman arm? Thanks.

Okay, I talked to TeraFlex and was told that in order to keep the factory steering geometry as close to factory as possible, a dropped pitman arm will not be included with their 4" kit. Apparently, their testing showed that a dropped pitman arm could actually cause more problems than it helped without the addition of a front track bar bracket. Need I say, they feel that their 4" kit can be driven safely both on and off road without the use of a drop pitman arm.

As far as the Rancho kit goes, yes, it was one of the only ones to feature a dropped pitman arm amongst other things. I haven't heard from them lately but I sure hope to soon. I'm still really excited about their new long arm kit (as I'm sure many of you are) and hope to work with them in the future.

I think most can say it's safe. I also think we all can say there will be less bumpsteer and angles will be better with a PA drop.

You mean assuming that the PA drop will actually keep the drag link and the trackbar as parallel as possible, right?

Well, also not be maxing out the ball joint. You can not add much addtional droop without maxing that joint out. I am not sure how much droop is added to the kits.
Trackbar and draglink being parallel as well.

Hey GoAnyWhere, I remember in the past you made mention that you attended SEMA and you clearly know a lot more than the average joe, who do you work for if you don't mind me asking?

Default I completely understand....patience is a virtue?

Yeah... I've had my 4-dr JK for 2 months.......have been waiting for the pitman arm to come in since that time. It's just frustrating really. I was told two days ago that it is going to be another 2 weeks.! ARGH!!!!!
