I never thought I would do GM, but after serious research I ended up having Robbie at MoTech to a budget build on my 08 JKU last summer. I got a 325hp LMG engine and 6L80 transmission, HD dual-pass radiator and HP exhaust system. He now has an adapter that allows the engine to be installed using the stock engine frame mounts. No cutting or welding required on the frame.

I'm pretty pleased with the end result.
