JK Improvements Continue
This install is on a 2013 2-Door JK MOAB which came with AEV Front and Back Bumpers as well as AEV Rock Rails as part of the MOAB Package.
I now have my M8000 Warn Winch with the "Searcher" Center Control Pack Mounting Bracket installed using the AEV winch mounting hardware. As I have ended up taking the Roller Fairlead off multiple times so far I had the mounting bolts welded in place so that I am only dealing with the Nuts and washers on the front side. I picked up my AEV Tubeless Bumper from the Fabrication Shop Friday. The fabricator modified the AEV Tubeless Front Bumper by chopping it outboard of the Fog Lights, and welding 3/16 Plate to the ends. I got it sanded, primed with Rust-Oleum 2X Coverage Black Primer. I then sprayed on the AEV Touch-up Paint, topped off with Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Clear Matte. It looks very good. NOTE: I bought the AEV Paint last year. After more research I would have probably used Rust-Oleum Black Fine Texture Finish spray paint at one third the price, and probably the same paint.
Quadratec shows the Road Armor Flip-Up License Plate Bracket shipping the 5th of June. I really hope it is worth the retail price.
I measured the vehicle height on all four corners before installing the winch. I plan to remeasure and see how much sag the weight of the winch put on the front end. I will probably end up adding a set of spacers to the front coils to bring the height back up.
After doing lots of research my original plan was to install front and rear MCE Factory width Flat Fender Flares along with Paramount Plastic Fender Liners to pretty much finish my build. As I have mentioned in another post that plan got side tracked by my radio quitting on me.
Tomorrow the old girl will be delivered to the stereo shop for a new 1550 Pioneer install, and all the associated hardware to make the Steering Wheel Radio Controls work, Sirius Radio work, a new Back-Up Camera. This upgrade will have Navigation, and I expect the Cel Phones to work better than before.
Along with the above mentioned work I installed a set of Hella E-Code glass headlights with 60/55 bulbs. Not annoyingly bright, but a big upgrade over the stock head lights.
I am looking forward to Summer finally getting here. Raining half the week every week, and unseasonably cold weather is throwing a wrench in taking the doors and top off.
Probably no pictures for a while until I get a computer tech to reconfigure where my camera down loads pictures. I am not a fan of Windows 10.
