Fab one up with a $20 air filter from Autozone. It works about the same as the factory made ones for alot cheaper!

I just fab'd one up last night....

APC "universal" cone filter from AutoZone - $24 (fits 3-5")
90 degree 3" flex elbow - $8
5" piece of 3" black PVC dwv - $3
45 degree 3" street elbow $2
3/4" hose barb $1

Drill a 5/8 hole in the middle of the 5" pvc for the hose barb/breather...drill or cut a small hole in the flex elbow near the throttle body for the air sensor...that's about it. I have it temorarily mounted with 6ga ground wire - haven't decided to use the rubber boot/flashing or trash can method to finalize it. Let me know if you want pics.

I wouldn't mind seeing pics. I'm going to fab my own and I love to see what other people have done.

Hope to have the heat shield done this weekend....either cut up a plastic trash can and use weather stripping to seal to the hood or a roof vent with a rubber boot.

Is the end of your air filter open?? It sure looks like it from the picture, maybe the end is sealed internally.

isn't there some issue about pvc giving off some kind of chemical under heat that can cause you sensor problems?

i thought i read that somewhere before.

I read that too. I've been debating using the autozone/pep boys build it yourself kits. they seem to have all the pieces/bends you could possibly need
