Don't know about fumes, but I do know that PVC will shrink and twist when it heats up. I had a 1.5" coupler as an intake brace on my last car and it shrank almost in half and I ended up just getting some aluminum pipe from autozone and makeing a decent intake. but my under the hood temps were a lot hotter than the jeeps. best of luck to you. not to hi-jack the page but speaking of snorkles....is there one on the market that you don't half to chop the body panels??
