I have a Superchips Vivid on my Jeep and a Flashpaq on my truck. Both have been great and I like dealing with those guys. Not only have they quickly helped with a small issue I had when the product was released but have been helpful in providing more global answers to my questions. The advanced trans tune on my truck has been great and I still can't figure out why more JK owners haven't adopted it. Despite having a 6 speed JK I've been trying to help a handful of people out so there can be some shift schedules to share. Still trying to round out a set of users so I have the model years covered and set up a place so they can be downloaded.

Anyway, great product and send me a pm if you need some help getting started with the advanced trans tune.

I'd like to hear from members that have this installed on their jeep and see what they think? Pros and cons are great

Thanks a bunch?

So not to go off topic, but how does the basic model compare to the vivid, is it worth the extra money. The base model fits my budget, and probably my limited use (tires, gears, performance). But the extra features r intriguing, gps, music, real time display. Also, is there a thread that compares all of the tuners available.
Thanks,

DD

What's cool is the vivid will support tablets and smartphones that use android so you will have a real time read out of what ur engine is doing mounted on your dash in whatever size u prefer.and overall make u a better human being

I'm working on getting a couple together for people at the moment. Just trying to get enough of them together so there's a decent set of them for the different model years, and then tire size/gear combos. Keep in mind that it's an end user tune, so what one person likes might not be ideal for another. I start out with something modest make some tweaks, and by that time the end user can grasp what's going on. The graphs in the spreadsheets are pretty helpful to get a visual representation. Just send me a pm and I'll help get you rolling.

I like my Vivid although I really haven't done anything outside of the SC software with it, such as download GPS software. Real time displays are cool as I've used them to keep a better eye on things. Primarily load and spark advance so I have a better idea of what's going on. I was surprised how quickly the JK gets loaded up at lower rpms putting a 100% load on the engine. That could be real helpful for someone on the fence about which gears as you can gather enough data from your daily commute or usual trip to see where the sweet spot would be. There's also a mileage minder which I ran for about 15 minutes, but found my driving habits are pretty efficient. Might be helpful for the guys getting 10-12 mpg. Then the gauge package so you can look at customized gauge clusters to keep a better eye on things.

The way I look at it, when I look at what my Flashpaq was when I first pulled it out of the box at introduction and what it is today the feature set is just so much more robust and defined. What's there today on the Vivid is definitely cool while the platform is such they will be able to do much cooler things in the future. Things that I would improve, although I haven't taken the time to give Superchips any feedback, are the inclinometer is to twitchy and the readouts need slowed down and I haven't gotten used to how different the touch screen is than my iphone. Definitely doesn't seem to have the same sensitivity and it's taken a bit of time to get used to. In my hand it does fine, on the mount I sometimes have to touch hard enough that it switches positions. Not a big deal and there might be a settings adjustment I just haven't dug for.

That must be true. Since getting my Vivid I gave away my Flashpaq to someone from this forum I didn't know, had an altruistic urge to help people take advantage of the SC advanced trans options despite having a 6 speed myself (Dodge Ram auto w/trans tune), built out the spreadsheets and am in the process of helping a half dozen people get started with it. If I had started out as a nice guy, I'm certain I would be up for a Nobel Peace Prize.

So far this is my only gripe as I now use Mac...I just asked to install on a friends pc it wasn't a big deal but mac compatibility in the future would be nice!
