Kayaks and Softtop?
Does anybody know the best way to hold kayaks on there softtops? I do not want to put a cargo rack. I was thinking just putting on a rugged ridge light bar and some foam pads on the back with tie downs. Any Suggestion?

1) get a Thule water-sports carrier for your trailer hitch. These are typically used for pickup trucks running roof racks to the Thule system, but they work well for Jeeps with no top / soft top. It's basically a bar that comes out from the trailer hitch and goes up into a "Y" shape above your roof.
2) get a light-bar, as you've suggested, or just find a welder in your area who will fashion you some pretty little bars that attach to your a-pillar the same way as most light bars do, and have a cross-bar up top with some foam padding on it.
I use this setup to run my canoe ontop of my jeep when it's too warm for the hardtop to be on. I don't own a soft-top as they're pretty impractical up here in Northern BC.
Does that help?
Unfortunately I don't have any photos to show you, as I only run this rig in the summer time and dont have any photos but I'll explain it to you best I can.
