In my opinion there is a good reason to have a steering stabilizer. I hit some water along the road when a storm had the ditches over flowing and the steering wheel damn near ripped my arm off. I am pretty certain the dampener would have prevented that. I say that because I have hit water like that many times before and never had that happen. I had just removed the ss when I swapped axles and haven't had time to work on the hydro steer. It did catch me off guard, but if I hadn't had a grip on the steering wheel it most likely would have sucked me into the ditch. I have also noticed when driving on a 4-6" oversize rock lane I was installing, the steering wheel shakes back and forth a lot. This doesn't happen in any of my other vehicles. So I say a steering stabilizer (or hydro assist)is needed. But you won't be seeing a fox or King on mine. I'll spend that money on one with hoses going to it!

You misunderstood the axle comment, nobody that's said anything negative about the product is the type to spend 7k on a crate front for 35" tires, therefore you're comment doesn't apply to us...
Glad we got that straight.

Axle has nothing to do with this. Point is the SS....

What? You mean there's a difference after all? How about that...lol

Someone will be by shortly asking for tech proof.

It's unfortunate that so many just regurgitate to fit in. Sad really.

When so many of us non-conformists have actually taken it off, felt the difference and were man enough to say so.

I bet they don't like cats either. Not manly to have a cat...or SS apparently.

So is there a difference in the feel of the steering... sure... I don't see that is what is at issue here. If people ask me if they NEED a steering stabilizer.. my answer is (and always will be) NO (that's from driving mine with 35s and no SS for over 3 years... experience, not a desire to fit in)... but if you don't like the additional feedback in your steering wheel, then my next answer is get the OEM version from your local auto parts store for like $35. You won't have your steering pulling or pushing from the gas charged stabilizers on the market. I'm very skeptical that a $250 SS is giving anyone $250 of value, but it's their money and their choice. I will also continue to assert that the SS just masks steering issues (be it a stock or modified jeep) until they become worse and sometimes cause a cascade effect in damaging steering components, whereas, without the SS you notice the issue when it starts rather than when it has fully developed.

Nope.. I don't like cats... not because of any testosterone issue... rather I think cats are assholes... now.. my dog goes everywhere with me and I rank her higher than everyone but my wife.

Steering stabilizers have their place and the factory one does what it is meant to do. 50/50 compression/rebound no gas charged to keep the tires from dancing around so much on rough surfaces. They also numb the feel of the steering. Not running a steering stabilizer will allow you to feel everything on the road, it personal preference which you like. Using a gas charged one will push your steering and keep you from driving straight. A steering stabilizer that has lighter valving will make turning the steering wheel easier and one that is valved stiffer will take more to turn the wheel and put more stress on the steering box. Again personal preference. A steering stabilizer "upgrade" is more about a vendor selling product then improving steering.

Regardless of your opinions on them, there is a huge market and people pay big bucks(fox ATS) so you can't blame king for producing one.

That being said, stock one is more than sufficient.

Lol. Right people disregard people's actual experience like yours also. I had 35s lifted and non lifted with and without a steering stabilizer and honestly I could tell no difference. I kept it on just because I had it and was trading it in. honestly it was trashed anyways towards the end so it wasn't doing anything anyways. Buy a stock one or a cheap Teraflex one if you feel you need an upgrade. $250 can be better spent

Yet those of us who haven't ran one are imagining the impact it doesn't have.

As is typical, people can get personally offended by what they waste money on with their jeep. I'm guilty of this as well, if someone said my 1100 dollar aluminum front bumper was ridiculous, I'd get all hurt too.

In the case of my JK I'm still rocking a stock ss.
105k and it's still good, I spend time under my rig making sure things are tight and in good shape.

The times I have had wobbles, shimmies and the like, I never jumped up to spend money on one of these. I bought things that actually fix the problem.
