How many of you have heard of "elka"?
Yah, exactly.
I was talking to alot of people before i decided to go with the King remote res. shocks, without a doubt, King are top notch and the 'elka' are NOT. At Cop4x4 they use King and suggest king over the elka. So, when I bought the 4" long arm teraflex lift from them, they suggested to go with the kings and not the elka. I decided I trust them.
I also spent a TUN of time reading reviews on king shocks. Really, you cant get better. I cant find a SINGLE THING about the elka except they are better than the shitty stock shocks that used to come with the lift.

Im not talking about elka outside of jeeps. Im talking about jeeps.
King has made shocks for jeeps forever, i had never heard of elka shocks for jeeps until a few years ago.
Camp at cop4x4 swears by the kings, ill take his word for it.

Most of the real race cars and truck that race Baja use King. I have had the opportunity to work along side with Elka on some testing (Not for a slow moving Jeep) and let’s just say I was not impressed. Because of it I would not run them on anything ever. This all took place about four years back and things could have changed, but to be safe I would stick with a high quality shock like Fox or King. This is just my opinion and does not reflect the opinion of this forum.

If you are going to be going slow like rock crawling, trail riding, or using your suspension in a way that it will not be cycled through the entire range quickly and constantly then you wouldn't be getting the full benefit of the King shocks, and so it would be up to the user if they can justify an extra $1,000 for something they will only get a slight benefit from.
I would however be able to easilly justify the extra $25 to move up to an OME LT shock, or the $40 to go to the Bilstein 5100 shock.
