Default Which kit to get.... cant make decision....Help

I am torn between the Teraflex 2.5" and the Rock Krawler stock mod 2.5" kit either with Bilstein 5100 shocks. Price wise they are about the same. Not the issue. I hear and read a lot about both kits. I have a 2012 4door, its a daily driver. I will run my 285/70/17 BFG KM2 till they are bald and replace with 35/1250. I have XD Addicts w/ 4.5" BS so ill be ok in that dept. I am leaning towards the Rock Krawler because I can easily upgrade to the the other kits. Ill do weekend offroading, probably no rock climbing. Not much that I know of around me. I go to the mountains often, I like the more expedition type jk's than rock crawlers. So if anyone wants to help me pick my kit feel free. I always like to hear more input. Thanks

I have the teraflex 2.5" with shock extensions for my jkur and it rides pretty nice,a little stiff but I will get bilstein shocks soon yo fix that. I kinda want the RK Max travel kit but I plan on doing rock crawling mostly. The reason Why I want RK cuz of the progressive rate coils that stretch like crazy. But other than I am really happy with my teraflex kit. U can get the teraflex 2.5 with bilsteins from Dave at Northridge 4x4.com for $775

Both are great kits! You can't go wrong either way.

I looked at this same exact scenario recently. The RK kit, while I assume is a great kit, isn't the same stuff for the same money. For example, for ~$800, the RK kit gets you the shocks, coils, front swaybary qd's, and an adjustable track bar. You'd still have to buy the bumpstops and brake line relocation...again, not a huge expense, but the bumpstops are close to $100...

I went with the TF kit and couldn't be more happy. Would I have been just as happy with the RK kit? Most likely the answer is yes. Just my personal experience with the TF kit.

Also, I don't get why everyone says "You can upgrade the RK kit". Sure you can, but it's not like you are going to get a deal because you are already running RK stuff. I can upgrade my TF kit as well. To upgrade my kit, I'd add adjustable track bars, control arms, etc...just like you'd do with the RK kit. I just don't see that as a "selling point"...perhaps I've seen this all wrong?

One thing that's sold me is teraflex's care for their customers and their love for JKs! Check out their YouTube channel and your mind will be set. They have fun videos that are designed to inform and assist you in your build. I'm not lifted yet but my mind is already set on TF. Check em out.

See my above post. I just don't get why everyone says "you can upgrade the RK kit" as a selling point. You can upgrade any kit, correct?

Rock Krawler all the way and yes its upgradable. I have the 3.5" on my 11 JKUR and its a great ride. I had a 08 with a Teraflex kit amd didnt like the ride, quality parts but ride was stiff.

Sure you can.
Saying you can't is like saying you can't mix one can of beans with the other.
There are plenty of things you can upgrade when and if needed.
Upper/lower control arms, front and rear sway bar links, front and rear adjustable trackbars, etc.
Just because it's RK and they advertise it as upgradable is a selling point.
Lets face it, you could upgrade a JK/JKU until there is nothing left from Jeep on it other than a frame.
Just to be clear I am not bashing RK as they make an excellent product. I have several friends who run their kits and have seen the quality and what they offer on and off the trail.
Personally, I run OME springs and use JKS componets when and where "I determine" what "I need".
If JKS didn't make what I needed then if RK or TF did I would check and see if what they offered fit the bill for my application and if so would buy it.
Doesn't hurt to mix and match in the Jeep world
