Km2 or mtr kevlars??
For mud I'd go with BFGoodrich, not that anything is wrong with the wrangler mtr. I've had alot of friends that are still having balancing issues with their mtr's
But it really depends on personal preference

Also heard of balancing issues with MTRs. My buddy also had a sidewall puncture our fist outing with new MTRs from running over a pallet that was dumped on the trail.
I would never run MTRs personally but they look cool as hell.

i have 35" KM2's. Love them and personally like the look much better than the MT/R. I hear that the MT/R run truer to size, but i call BS cuz the spec's for both KM2's and MT/R are 34.8". Mine measure 33.75-34" on the jeep and 34.75" on the wheel off the jeep. I doubt the MT/R are more than a fraction more if any

Having friends running both, I honestly beleive the MTR's offer better side protection than the KM2's. The KM's are very light. But the KM2's, from what I've seen, performa better off-road (could be the driver though....)
As for size, the poster above disagrees with KM2's running smaller....maybe true depending on setup. My brother in law runs 35's on his JKU and they were about the same size as my old Maxxis Boghorns which are also known for running on the small size. When I swithced to the Toyos, they are visually bigger than his KM2's side by side. Plus, using chalk tests and adjusting the computer for speedo clearly shows the KM2 being smaller than my Toyo...They are a godd half inch different. Not huge, but it is noticeable.
I've heard the KM2's don't really hit real true size until you get to 40's. I heard that from a buddy who owns a tire shop. He loves the KM2's but currently runs 40" Mud grapplers as he couldn't get KM2's for a decent price even though he owns a tire shop. Go figure.
As for performance, there isn't anything bad you can say about either tire. The KM2 guys in my club go through and over everything though....

Had several sizes of both. I like them both. If your jeep ever touches snow or ice stay far away from the KM2's. They are horrible in the cold stuff.
I've had better luck keeping the MTR's balanced and they seem to cup less on the fronts compared to the KM2's with regular rotations.

I have also owned both tires. Although on different vehicles. The Kevlar mtr is better in snow. I have never had a problem balancing and they wear great. 30000 miles and they still have easily more than half tread.
