May be gong out on a limb here but has anyone had much experience the bfg km2 in a 40/14.50/17 I'm looking at tire upgrades they are light weight for the size idk if ill have rubbing Isues but maybe someone has some input for me I do have d44s but I have them trussed and gusseted and rcv shafts just looking for some input or even just regular km2 input would be nice

They are lighter because they are generally smaller. I have 35" KM2s and they measure about 34"

I'm running the same axle setup as you; also Ten Factory rear axle shafts.

I ran 40x13.5 MTRs for over 3 years; did Rubicon with zero issues. Just have to wheel smart and axle-focused. Never stopped me from doing anything I wanted to, but I was/am not a rock and ledge crawler. I run PNW trails, fireroads, and DD.

KM2s are great tires. I have the 38x14.5s now. They are light, ride incredible on road, need little to no balancing and wheel/grip with the best of them. I highly recommend.

Most tires are 1-1.5" smaller than marked. My 38s are exactly 36.5" on a TR.

Well I like playing on the rocks but I know how to take it easy does the wide tire kill you in th snow

Wider is better. 0-2 lbs and float.

Narrow for minimal snow and/or ice. Wide for the deep stuff.

Better?? For snow...wouldn't you just float around and not actually cut down through it..
