Am looking at pulling the trigger on a PR44 this Christmas in preparation of the Rubicon trail this coming spring. We are trying to plan when we need to leave and I want to make sure I have time for fab time, install and test. If I'm looking at a PR44 with a locker and prosteer ball joints, what kind of $$$$ am I looking at? Hope to get some good advice from you guys! Thanks Dev

Last one I ordered was 4 to 6 weeks if they built it and then there was a delay on housings....another 4 weeks at that...
But normally 3-4 weeks, if you build it then they can ship housing out pretty quickly...

Northridge shipped mine 3 days after I ordered. That's with them installing the gears, locker, ball joints, raised track bar bracket. Paid $ around $5100

I just installed a set of PR 60s in my Jeep. It took Dynatrac three months to get the axles built and shipped. Shipping from California is just two days where I live.

Call Robert, he can give you many options of front housing.
I wanted a PR44. Finally decided to go with Teraflex R44. Been happy so far.
People will comment about it being made over seas. Well okay.
My factory JKUR wheels were made in China. My bumpers are Chinese Smitty repops.
My coffee maker is Chinese. My shrimp is Chinese and Indian.

It's not cheap. I have about 3000 in upgrades.......that's what I tell my wife.
Replacing damaged goods is not repair, its upgrades.

Just another option.

Wow, so would yall say that if I found a used 08 Rubicon axle that has the locker still in it, sleeves, and gussets that I should pass on it? All I would need to do is throw some 4.88s in.

If it is a waist of money then I really need to know. One is becoming available. I would even truss it just in case.

So...built 08 rub I axle with locker...or PR44?

Depends on the price, the actual condition of the axle, the total parts/labor costs of the additions, and your preferences/needs.

So, add up the costs and compare.

Ya know, $2500 for the built rubi44 + $800 for gears/labor + $800 for truss/labor = ?. The PR will come with aftermarket balljoints and alloy shafts, so if those are upgrades you were considering, figure another $650 for regular alloy and synergy bj's, to maybe $1600 for rcv's and dynatrac bj's. A good side-by-side comparison will make it easier to decide which makes more sense to you.
