In this part of the country, the chance of me making the drive to do some serious rock crawling is slim, at least as long as this is my DD.

I'm going to keep my 32" ATs that came with the JK (not stock) for about 15,000 more miles. Then I'll look at the whole 33/35 question, but I leaning to 33 MTs. A 1" body lift is also a possibility if I need (or want) a little more fender clearance.

Just kinda thinking out loud - didn't plan on a lift until 1) I parked next to a bunch of lifted jeeps at a meet and greet last week and got an inferiority complex AND 2) I happened to spot this deal.

Running TF leveling kit and 285/75/16 duratracs. Looks and feels great. Easy install... Recommend a spring compressor to put the coils back in. You can rent them from autozone for free, don't buy one.

As promised here are before and after photos of the teraflex leveling kit installed. I don't think the photos do it justice. The difference when you walk around it is awesome.

Kinda like photos of the Grand Canyon are never impressive once you've been there AND after photos have the added weight of the hardtop.

I did the install alone in about four hours. I took my time doing it one wheel at a time and making sure that the jackstands were very secure.

I'll put some more install photos below.

Here we go

Photo 1 - Full flex disconnected. You will note the shiny shock extension at the top of the shock. This was not a part of the Teraflex kit, but was purchased with the setup from Derek. It appears the shock is the limiting component here. I double checked that the brake line wasn't stretching.

Photo 2 - Another angle of full flex disconnected.

Photo 3 - Full flex connected. Note the DIY quick connect (Clevis Pin). I'm not sure if I'm going to run it full time or just when i know I'm going on a ride. I'll probably leave it on for a while and check the wear and tear over time.

Photo 4 - 1/2" by 3" Clevis Pin. I used 7/16" fender washers instead of 1/2" because they are a better fit around the pin. Two full sets (4 pins, 8 washers and 4 clips) for under $20. I'll keep the spares in the JKU.

Photo 5 is the upper bolt on the swaybar links. Does it look right Derek?

Time to test it out

I dont think mine had excess threads sticking out either. you might want to flip the swaybar links though. They are kinked to compensate for the gap between swaybar mount and axle mount. If you spin them 180 degrees, they will fit a little better. I would also put the washer between swaybar and bushing as opposed to swaybar and nut, less wear and tear over time.

Got ya Now i remember seeing the "kink" when it came in. That explains the drivers side looking like it's loaded when it's not.

Edited 5 minutes later: - Thanks Just got back from switching it - looks good.

I LOVE IT!
perfect for adding that aggressive look without dealing with all the other big lift parts.
i will be getting 35s. and am chopping my fenders.
and DO plan on getting a 2.5 or 3.5" lift.
havent had any problems. but i love it. and get a lot of compliments on the look.
I ran 35's on just a leveling kit and it looked real good, but i didnt have that set up long enough to try flexing i. I think you can easily get away with a leveling kit and chopped fenders.
