Default Leveling kit or small lift?

My JKU is my daily driver (70 miles a day).....and will be offroad maybe 3 times a year (not counting the 8 weeks of hunting season). I am looking at either a 275/70r17, 285/70r17, or a 305/70/r16.............4.5 backspacing.

So, now at a stand still in whether to go leveling kit or a small lift.

I am considering the teraflex leveling kit and looking at about 400 installed for it (part included).

Other options I am considering are:

Rough country 1.75 inch lift with the poly spacers and the 2.0 shocks and performance steering stabalizer -600 installed (parts included)
Jeep JK Wrangler Suspension Lift

or possibly one of the 2.5 inch suspension lifts by RC (or maybe even the Teraflex 2.5 budget).

I don't want to worry about the driveshaft issues (which I hear are only if you go with a 3.5 or higher lift).

Any suggestions?

Of I were you I would get the Rough Country 2.5" BB its a spacer lift and comes with shock relocation brackets so you get to use your current shocks. And it will go perfect with 285s

This is what I have...I'm perfectly happy with the setup.

You will be fine. No driveshaft issues with a leveling kit. The can be had for around $130. I installed 4Dr spings and shocks. Very easy. If you can save some bucks and do it yourself. I will add a leveling kit mine in the future.

If you are on the fence about installing yourself. Got to Project.JK.com or Wayalife.com and look up Eddie's write up for Teraflex 2.5" BB.

I have the TF performance leveling kit now with 285/75/17 (34's). They rub on the back fenders when wheeling really good so much that they broke some fender clips. If you stick with a 285/70/17 (33) you will be just fine. I personally liked the TF springs over the stock ones. Also changed the shocks to stock length bilsteins. Install of everything is easy just take your time. Just bought an AEV 2.5 lift to get what I really wanted out of the wheeling I do.

Thanks folks. With the RC, did you guys opt for the 2.0 or 2.2 shocks? and the steering stabalizer?

If you feel your off-road needs are never going to progress, then stick with the simplest budget boost you can for your needs! If you feel at some point you are going to start getting more into off-road and having fun with your JK, we would recommend a kit you can build upon so you are not wasting hard earned $$$$.

If you are the later, we would recommend either our 2.5" Stock Mod System or 2.5" Flex System! All of them are easily upgrade-able, even to a long arm system!

The 2.5" Stock Mod System link!

The 2.5" Flex System link

We believe in investing in good hard parts and going from there!

Good Luck with your build!

go with the 2.0 .. 2.2 are not good at all, very rough ride
would also go with a 2.5" coil lift since you have added weight due to bumper, rails, etc.
