Default Is a lift hard to install?

Do you think I could put a lift with New Coils, Swaybar links, and Shocks on by myself?

What tools do you need to do it, We have 4 Jack Stands and some 10000 lb Jack as well.

Me and a buddy did it ourselves with hand tools. No prior knowledge of Jeep lifts at all. It did require us to get a big arse tool set from Sears though(we really only needed a few sizes and ended up with a boatload)
Jack Stands, 2 jacks and a lot of elbow grease. I dont know why Jeep engineers decided to use such long bolts threaded all the way with such tiny threads. If you are doing anything close to Eddies write ups you can use them as a guide.

If you are competent I have faith you can do it, still might want an extra pair of hands.

Its a 4" Pro Comp Stage 1 kit. We are going with the stock tires until my Mom can afford some 35's!

That will look funny, 4" lift and stock tires!

I agree, give yourself a whole day and start early! Try and do it on a Saturday (or better yet a weekday), that way if you need a tool or a part or something, autoparts stores are open. I did a few projects on saturday nights into sundays where I needed a tool or parts and everything had to sit until monday so I could get it. Also, make sure you have a 16mm or 5/8" rachet-wrench to remove the front top shock mounts. Its not mandatory, but it will take you forever if you just have a regular wrench. Check out Eddie's write-ups too, he does a great job at listing every size socket you will need. Even though you arent installing the same lift, at least you will know what sizes you need to remove the factory stuff. I have a pretty extensive tool collection ,but I did not have a 21mm socket to remove the track bar. If I wouldnt have read Eddie's write ups, I wouldve been running to the store in the middle of my lift install.

Good luck! Can't wait to see pics too

You may want to wait until you can get some new driveshafts, the 4" lift may be too much for the stock shafts. I saw the damage on Piginajeep and that's why I am staying at 2" coils with 3/4 spacers in the front.

With an Unlimited I think driveshafts are fine.

Pro Comp did a Live demo on lifting the JK and they put 35"s on it and had no problems, and it was a Stock X model as well.

Don't forget longer brake lines. I would strongly, wait let me put it this way STRONGLY recommend getting a good spring compressor. They're about $30-$50. They're also available at most rental places. I read the posts from folks who said they did it just fine without. I figure it added a good two hours, or more to the job and I still ended making one (not real safe) from some stuff I had in the shop. They're all over the internet if you're wondering what they look like. Take your time with them and be very careful. The springs can pop out from them if you start throwing them around, or dropping them.

Your mom must be pretty cool to let you do this to her Jeep. Be careful, use common sense and you should do just fine.

Thats some great advice... Me and my buddies have lifted a few jeeps.. always started too late after work and ended up working on it all till 4 in the morning... prob would have finished sooner, but we needed a lot of beer breaks.

it was always a bummer when you were close to being finished and realized u didnt have the right size of some tool and its past midnight... AutoZone should be 24 hours.. like the pharmacy.

The sping compressor makes all the difference.
