i strongly suggest starting it on a friday, if you can. that way, you can still run to the hardware store on saturday to pick up the part that you either a)inevitably forgot, or b) should have been included.

you can borrow spring compressors from a lot of autoshops. they require a small deposit, DNA sample, rights to your first born child, or whatever.

wish i was closer to you to give you a hand. you're out there sometimes, but you've got a lot of heart, and even more enthusiasm.

If I can't round up some help, is this a do-it-yourself one man task? Or will I really need an extra set of hands?

I'm thinking about tackling a lift as a weekend project... maybe only the 2.5" lift or something like that. Can't go too high as I want to be able to still get in the garage.

I was able to do my lift without a spring compressor, but I did have some trouble with the passenger side front due to the steering linkage making the area tight. I would also recommend a set of metric open end/ratcheting wrenches. These came in real handy when I couldn't get a socket into a tight spot.

Not sure what all is included in the 4" lift but if you have to change the front upper control arms, you will have to cut a bolt, so you need a hacksaw at the least. You also should pick up a bolt too. If the kit doesnt come with control arms you are okay.

Haven't needed a spring compressor, yet. With the axle hanging, jack up the passenger side of the axle and the drivers side will droop even more so you can get the springs in/out. Then reverse for the other side.
