Question Lift question

If Teraflex, and alot of other companies, offer a 2.5" lift which they state "Will provide an average of 3” of lift on 2 door JK models.", why do they also offer a 3" lift?

TeraFlex 2.5" coil kits lift the front 3.1" and the 3" will lift the front 4.25" on stock JK's. The front is raised higher to counter the amount of rake that the front end has.

Ok. So what does the 2.5" and 3" signify in each kit?

I believe 2.5", for example, refers to the average lift. You'll get about 3" in the front and about 2" in the rear for an average of 2.5".

Most lift kits correct the factory rake. This is the reason for the different lift height in the front and rear.

I've always preferred a little bit of a forward rake. When I have full jeep and/or the cargo carrier loaded up I don't like the ass end to sag too much. I just installed OME hd coils and I'm hoping it doesn't level out after settling, 2 weeks and still a little rake.
