Default Lift question

I have been looking at the Rusty's 3in kit at there site. The kit comes with track bars, shocks, and coils. My question is why would this kit have so much less than say the Full Traction or Teraflex? Seems like most kits come with swaybars/links, control arms, bump stops, etc. so why not with this kit? The only other answer i can come up with is that the entire kit is not pictured.

How about this...
What exactly should i need to lift a 2dr rubicon 3in? I am not talking kits per say, i mean components. What components should i really be looking? For example, why get the track bar relocation brackets if i am just going to get ne ones, why pay for something i won't use.

It all depends on how far you want to take it. I have the Skyjacker 4" (5" on the 2 door) and I have personally seen the Black Diamond 3". I like my Skyjacker, but the Black Diamond is a good lift for the money and looks like some parts were thought out more than the Skyjacker. Unless you are getting a lift with adjustable control arms, I would get one without arms. The JK arms are much better than the TJ's were. If I had it to do over, I would get a lift without arms and add adjustable arms later. Just my .02.

I guess i want to know what essentials i should look for, if anything beyond shocks and coils, in a 3in kit?

Spings and shocks are the best and Adjustable track bars are a big plus . Black Diamond comes with a front adjustable bar, but with a rear relocation bracket. Most basic kits (and some middle of the road kits), have relocation brackets front and rear.

Is it necessary for front and rear tracks? I know people have had problems with the brackets, is it front or rear or both? When do new control arms need to come into play?

Essential? That's easy, 3" taller coils or spacers. Now, do you plan on wheeling your Jeep? If so, you will need bumpstop extensions, new longer shocks and rear brake line extension brackets at the very least. Do you care about how well it will peform on the trail? If so, you will need front sway bar disconnects and longer rear links. Is on pavement ride quality and handling important to you? If so, adjustable front and rear track bars as well as adjustable upper and lower control arms are needed to dial in your ride. Make sense?

not meaning to hijack the thread, but...so if you were to go with a black dimond 3" kit, to get the rig perfect, you would need a rear adj track bar, as well as upers and lowers??

I have the rusty lift, and made my own disconnects and brakeline extension brackets, as well as ditching the brace that holds the ebrake cables in place.

for the cost I am very satisfied with it
