makes sense now... longer wheelbase on the 4d means I need more height on both ( belly/axle ) to clear stuff....

well really just the belly... the axle height on a 2 door and 4 door are both realtive, but the longer wheelbase calls for more belly clearance when "straddling" an obstacle
