Lift Suggestions...
I know this dead horse has been beaten more times than a <insert cute anecdote>, and i found a great thread once, but cant seem to find it again...there are just too many. I have a 2012 JK with 500 miles on her. I am looking for a 2.5" lift that i would like to put 35" tires under. I plan on using my stock 18" rims with 1.5 inch spacers. There are many different suggestions on whether this will rub or not. I have purchased 3.5 inch springs a few weeks ago, and then found that my particular dealership will give me problems with my warranty if I go over 2.5" so I will be selling these springs at a loss i am sure. The particular thread I was reading was where an admin suggested that Rancho was the best bang for the buck. I personally will be using my jeep 90% of the time for my daily driver, but will be doing some wheeling a couple times a month. Because she is so new i will not be doing any major (if at all) rock climbing, I am building a CJ for the extreme stuff, at least till i get towards the end of my warranty. Most threads I see people disagreeing on whether you need to buy a new drive shaft or new front and rear upper and lower....blah blah blah. I am not looking to spend $3-4000 to get my jeep lifted. Any tips would be very helpful. Thank you in advance!
I have a 2012 JKU Sahara with 1500 miles one it as well. Last night and a little bit today I put on the Rock Krawler 2.5" Stock Mod kit. I added Bilstein 5100 shocks, 1.5" Spidetrax because I'm running stock rims and tires for the first year, plan on 33" Duratrac's. I drive about 70 highway miles a day and plan on mild wheeling. I went with RK for the cost and upgradability. They have nice stuff, can start with basic kit and upgrade to what you feel is necessary. The kit was pretty easy to install, did it with a buddy in my garage.
You could always go with a 2 1/2" teraflex kit which will be plenty to clear 35's. With that lift you should be fine with the stock driveshafts being you don't plan on doing any extreme wheeling...at least right now. Adjustable front lowers are always a good investment, but you could add those later, depending on how it drives
I'm looking at the Old Man Emu medium duty springs. The HD spring set seems to be lifting 3+ inches and I don't need that right now. I have to do some calling around yet, but that's where I'm going at the moment.
Reading the forums people seem to be very happy with the kits and various components they sell. Teraflex also seems to be highly recommended.
In my case I'm installing an ARB front bumper with 9.5cti winch and I don't want the jeep doing a nose dive.
I considered spacers, but then I'm rolling on pre-compressed springs and the ride will be suffering so I trashed that idea.

Thanks for the suggestions... looks like I am torn between the Rock Krawler stock mod and the Teraflex equivalent. Any suggestions on why I would want to take one over the other? Also, I see many people buying the Bilstein 5100 shocks. Is there a reason for buying these vs. purchasing the Teraflex or Rock Krawler shocks? It looks like Teraflex has a package that comes with shocks for only a couple hundred dollars more...saving about $100.
I have the teraflex with bilstein shocks and its a very solid ride. I think the bilsteins are monotube shocks and the teraflex are not. I was able to find the bilsteins at the shock warehouse website. they are like 83 bucks each now.
