Default which lift? which tires?

Hi I am new to this site but have wheeled all my life. I currently own a 4 door Rubcion and a Tacoma with a flip pac camper. The toyota though has to be sold. I would like to put a lift on the jeep but just a mild one. 2 inches or enough to clear a 34 -35. I have a warn bumper and a 10,000 lb winch and rock sliders. The front end sags a bit. All the shops seem to recommend the terra flex lift. Does anyone have experience with that one. This jeep has to be my daily driver, I am a geologist and work off road besides just exploring trails and stuff . so I don't want something too rad it has to be dependable as a stone.

I don't want to have to wheels and hopefully not spacers. I don't want to worry about my drive shaft either so I want to keep it less than 3 inches. But I do need new front springs. In the past I was able to run 35's on my stock h-3 Goodyear mtr's.

My first jeep was 77 cj 7 golden eagle (man I loved that beast).

So for tires anybody have any suggestions for a good aggressive all terrain tire something more aggressive than a BFG all terrain? I don't really want to deal with the noise as the mud tires get worn. In the past i have run parnelli jones dirt grips, good year MTRs, the goodrich mtrs on the rubicon, BFG's pro comp extreme all-terrains, and maybe a few others I can't recall. I have also run Armstrong tru tracs (any body as old as I am might remember these) on my 1982 toyota. ( price club specials) . They all get louder as they wear. but the procomp was the quietest.

Also what is the largest tire anyone is running on a bone stock rubicon? I ask because everyone said you could run 35's on an H-3 without a lift but one day I saw some on one and asked the owner he said they fit just fine. So maybe on the rubicon?

Oh I am in the Encinitas, North county San Diego . I usually go exploring out in Anza borrego sometimes big bear. hope to see you guys on the trail some time.

This link will tell you almost everything read it over. 35's are factory on the H2 you must have really been stuffed with 35's on a H3. Big difference between the two.

You can run 33s on a stock setup with minimal rubbing at the rear when flexing. With 35s, you need a 2.5" lift or flat fenders.

Here is a shot of my 2dr with 33s and no lift:

Here it is with a 2.5" Teraflex BB:

As for an agressive All-Terrain tire, I have to recommend the Goodyear Dura-Trac. Performs great, rides good and is silent.

Welcome to the form I don't live to far away from you. San Diego county is quite an active area on the forum. I have the Teraflex full flex 3" lift and it has been great for me. My tires are 35" BFG KM2's on stock 17" wheels with 22,000 miles on them, they are not to noisy. You will have to use wheel spacers on the stock wheels. Even with this lift you will probably have to replace your front drive shaft, it will rub on your tranny pan and rip the boot. It will be good to meet you someday.

Great to see...I have a 2007 steel blue Sahara and I am hoping to do 33's without lifting right now...I am assuming you were running the 285/70R17 Duratracs in these photos. So, it looks promising to hear no day-to-day issues with running these and no lift.

In the future, I do plan to add the 2.5 TF BB to accommodate 35's. Trying to budget and do the best for the longterm...17x9 wheels and 33's now...then the lift and 35's next time.

Awesome. I'll post a pic when I do it. Looking at the ProComp 7031's or new Gun Metal DC 7's for wheels.
