Default lift without shocks

I know I should just buy the parts but. I have a tf 2.5 lift that i want to install but I dont have the shock extenders or new shocks. Because its still winter here I wont be wheeling till spring, is it still ok to install the list? Will it damage the shocks? It will only be on road till spring. I'm waiting for the tax return till i order the shock extender. btw its going on a 09 rubi 2dr, mostly stock.
Thanks
