Wheeled with a guy Who had them. He popped a spring. Seemed kind of like a waste of money.

If you buy your lift as a kit I can't imagine that the setup would require the purchase of a separate limiting strap. The kit should either come with it or not need it.

If there is a reason to limit your suspension then use them if not then save your money.

I bought a RK 2.5 Max Travel Kit. Once everything was bolted in, we dropped the front axle to see how far it would go. With the swaybar connected, one spring came loose enough that you could shake it by hand. I haven't had a chance to fully flex it out yet, but I'm a little worried a spring might fall right out.
The kit didn't come with limiting straps or spring retention clips, but I'll probly end up buying one or the other, preferably the clips. With out either straps or clips, my shocks would be what stopped the down travel, and thats bad.
I'm not sure which to get or whick is better, so I could use some more info on this as well, both straps and clips if anyone can add to this.

What is a retention clip?
I just installed a 3.5" re superflex kit. And at full flex the rear springs could fall out. I'm pretty sure that it's due to length of my fox shocks. Plus , it's not good to have your shocks be the limit to your droop. So , I'm going to install some straps just to be safe.

lol. it's pretty dam flexy. i've only wheeled it once so far and heard a couple people mention it, and you can feel it as well compared to stock i think. there were a couple "hey have you lost a coil yet" jokes. you'll love it.

It is a small piece of "L" shaped metal you mount to the spot where your coils sit. One screw holds it in. Very simple...and important
