Default Line X

I washed the jeep today after some heavy mudding and gravel roads and noticed that it now has scratches and paint chips all over from the front tire kicking up rocks and debris. So I began thinking about rocker protection (possibly pure jeep rockers) and maybe even doing about a 1 ft strip of line x around the bottom of the jeep. Has anyone done any line x on any body panels? If so how did it turn out and also I'd appreciate a few opinions on how you guys think this would turn out.

I think it would be AWSOME. I did the whole interior but if I did a lot of off roading and mudding I would definatly consider doing the wheel wells and maybe along the bottom edge of the body where things get sprayed up. I did the interior of mine because I have kids.... and we take it to the beach, mountains etc.. and also use it to transport wheels and tires for my race car. The carpet was already getting trashed in the back. Now with the Line-X it is perfect.

Good luck and show pics when you are done.

Jeff

I had an 06 Xterra before I had the Jeep and I had the front hood / fenders sprayed with it as well as about 8" up the sides as a rockguard and it looked / worked out great. Pricey though because of alll the taping they had to do it was about $1000.00 but it is guaranteed for life.

i did the entire inside of my JK and was also thinking about about something similar to what you are on the outside.
Here is my only concern....My dad has one of his trailers done along the sides and although the line-x looks as it did the day he got it done, over time he developed some rust along the edge of the line-x where it meets the body. Granted, this has been over approx. 8-10 years, but I plan on having my JK for a long while and am afraid of that happening.
I am probably going to go ahead and to my shrockworks and rubi rock rails though.

Anyway, interested in what others have to say.

I line-X my whole interior and the bottom edge of the rocker pannels about 3" up. As well as my shrockworks front bumper and rock rails. Love it and would recommend it.

My only concern would be, what will it look like in a year or 2? Will it fade, being exposed to the sun all the time?

Not a Jeep but this was the front bumper on my bronco. It was a Hanson bumper sprayed in Line X. Bumpers look sweet sprayed in a bedliner.

The rear was sprayed too. Hope you guys like the tire cover. I hated it when people called my BRONCO a JEEP. I sold this bronco to help fund the Rubicon. I guess Ive seen the light.

Line-x has a UV protection layer they spray on last. Looks very dark black and shiny. I did it inside my jeep and I think it looks awsome. A buddy of mine did his pickup bed in it and it looks new after 3 years. He even spilled some paint in the bed and it did not stick and he just powerwashed it right out. Tough stuff.
