The bold is absolutely a false statement. Kevlar when used in a bedliner is used for tear resistance. It has absolutley zero effect on UV stability.
maybe i should have posted what line-x says to clear up my post.

"LINE-X XTRA delivers added protection against cracking, bubbling, peeling and color fading. Not to mention that DuPont™ KEVLAR® is up to five times stronger than steel, making your truck bed stronger than just about anything you can put in it."

dupont kevlar makes it stronger and the "XTRA" helps with uv?

anyway, all i know is if my hard top (with line-x) tears, peels or fades, line-x will respray it for free.

Black doesn't make it hotter in the sun. Seriously, the black Line-X in my Jeep stays cooler than the green painted metal. I can walk barefoot in the back in 100 degree temps without burning my feet, and I couldn't do that before getting it sprayed.

Well, that's because metal is a conductor. Linex isn't.

I think the black absorbs more heat than white linex would, but who wants white linex?

DIY is great....if you want the experience, can't afford a professional, have plenty of free time, etc. Some things I DIY. Some things I use a Pro.
I'm going to check on getting this done in Yellow I requested a Become a Dealer pack, I'm kind of handy and my do this myself.

I have been slowly stripping interior for line-x and started removing sound / heatshild glue!!!! It is a total BIAOOOTCH!!!!!! If I had known how much of a pain in the a$$ this would be, I probably would have left that stuff alone.

Oh well !!! I got it started! now I gotta finish it... Cant wait for line-x !

My Jeep sounds like a panel truck inside with no passenger seats, carpet, and half the sound material out.

Is the liner a good enough sound dampiner after it's in to replace the existing stuff? How much noice difference are we talking?

I had mine done over a year ago and it's the best mod I have done.

Mine was $500 so $450 is a great deal IMO. Also I haven't had any problem with the heat from black and don't think the color is worth the extra money.

Also I would have them chisel the caulk out it looks much cleaner and the guys the did mine said it peeled right off with an air chisel. Also I would have the Line X wraped around the door sill it covers up all the boot scraps.

X2 on having it covering the door sill. I did that also and not only does it look great is is very functional.

I have to admit yours looks smoother than mine because you had them chisel out the caulk (or whatever that stuff is...it is hard as a rock). After discussing it with the service manager of my dealership, I opted to leave mine in. His reasoning was the caulk (or whatever it is) was put there for a reason (heat shielding?) so leave it there. I have no idea if he was correct or not, but I had them spray over mine so what's done is done and I am pleased. Spraying the inside is the second best mod I have done so far (first being 4.88s) and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Carpet in a jeep?

Default liner

I would stay with black. Most Everyone is concerned about black being too hot. You've got your top down, its 100 degrees out and your sweating, at this point color doesn't matter! A word on color matching, its impossible! you can use the same paint, but it won't be the same color. the body is a shiny metal and the bedliner is a textured urethane. Anyway, colors don't hold up as well as black. Black's the best white's the worst. $450 is a good price. You will get some sound deadening and some heat resistance depending on the brand you chose. All liners are a little diffrent so these are general statements, but a good guideline in my opinion. Do it yourself kits usally don't compare to a professional liner in my opinion, but may work for someone else. if you have anymore questions i'll be happy to help.
